Before you create a layout for your template
always print out a blank template and work with it. This is the time you can see if the template is the correct size as indicated or if it needs any tweaking.
Your printer and the program you use plays a big factor when it comes to getting the correct printed size. Get to know your printer/program and all it's features.
When cutting out templates always cut on the outside line unless instructions state differently.
And cut carefully. Cutting is as important as creating a layout. If you cut carelessly the template will not assemble properly.
I always laminate first before I cut out the template.
Always inquire for the dimensions of the template and the dimensions of the assembled item.
Always print in grayscale when testing a template. This will save you lots of ink in the long run.
Good quality paper/cardstock makes a big difference in your completed design. And if the
paper/cardstock is coated the images of the printed
item will pop out.
The type of tools used play an important role in creating your design. I am not talking about software programs. I am referring to scissors, craft knife, glue, ruler, etc. When you have the right tools your crafting will be more fun. And the result more
professional.
One of the templates on the CD is a Sachet
Envie. I always use 100% Cotton Paper when making this template. This type paper allows for the scent of the sachet to permeate the envie.
